It's not always easy to talk about sex and relationships. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right words and you may feel that some issues are a little embarrassing to discuss. txtM8 gives you the option to deal with those issues by texting someone anonymously and confidentially and getting the answers and advice you want sent directly to your mobile phone.

The service uses a short phone number – 89868 – which spells out txtM8 on a regular mobile phone keypad, making it easier for you to remember.

Using txtM8 is simple. Just text a question on any topic relating to sex, sexuality, sexual health or relationships to 89868 as if you were texting a mate and an experienced adviser will text you back an answer. Txtm8 advisers can also direct you to relevant local services and clinics where you can go to for free confidential support, treatment and further advice.

txtm8 guarantees your anonymity and is completely confidential. All txtm8 advice should be clear, supportive and friendly, but please do not send picture messages as adviders can not view them.

txtM8 is open 8am and 2am, 365 days a year. All questions received during opening times will usually be answered within 30 minutes. Texts received outside these hours will be answered as soon as txtM8 re-opens.

The cost of sending a text to txtM8 is the same as a standard text message - which will depend on your network tariff. There is no charge for receiving text messages from txtM8, all the texts sent to you by txtM8 are completely free.
