txtM8 is a confidential, interactive sex and
relationships text service for young people, aged 13-25,
living, working and studying in the London boroughs of
Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and
Wandsworth. txtm8 is funded by the NHS and run by Living
Well, a London-based healthcare service provider.
To use txtm8 all you
have to do is text your question to 89868 between 8am
and 2am and you'll get an answer sent back to your
mobile phone within 30 minutes.
txtm8 is open 365 days a year and each text you send
only costs the price of a standard text, which means
that they will be included in any text bundle you may
have. All replies are free.
Every question is answered by an experienced adviser who
is trained to give clear, unbiased and confidential help
and advice on any topic relating to sex, relationships,
sexuality and sexual health, such as:
• the different types of contraception
• sexually transmitted infections
• pregnancy and pregnancy testing
• national helplines and websites
• the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination
• finding local clinics and services for treatment and
advice
• meanings of sexual terms and jargon
• where to get free condoms
• puberty and your body

provides more information on some of the many other
local and national services that you can access to get
all the help and support you need.

So who is Chlamydia?
Chlamydia is the
most common sexually transmitted infection in the UK. It affects
both sexes, although young women are more at risk. Chlamydia can be
easily treated, but it often has no symptoms so remains undetected
and can cause infertility.
